Message especially the small ground and the plug in connector. I use dielectric grease on the plug in.

Did you have Autozone check the new alt on the bench to make sure it passed?

I will add that I recently replaced the alt 3 times due to faulty units that the dioeds failed, These were Pep Boys alts and all were checked B4 I left the store. I fiannly gave up and picked up an alt at a local reputable rebuilder (using a no charge exchange from Pep Boys they were very cooperative). That unit is many monts old and works fine.

BTW with this alt issue and drive on ramps I can pull and replace an alt in 45 minutes - big deal still a PITA and not worth knowing unless in the auto repair business.
